Smart Construction Group delivered the boiler house renovation and repair for GSK under consultant EGEC — a structural rehabilitation programme that began with condition assessment and ran through to a rebuilt, re-serviced facility. The scope covered concrete slab inspection and evaluation, slab removal, structural strengthening, steel structure, sandwich panel cladding, insulation, MEP works, utilities and finishes.
Rehabilitation work starts with diagnosis, not demolition. The existing concrete was inspected and evaluated before any decision was taken, so the remedial strategy addressed the actual condition of the structure rather than treating visible symptoms. From there SCG removed and replaced the failed slab, strengthened the structure, erected new steel and insulated cladding, and reinstated the mechanical and electrical services. A boiler house is critical plant infrastructure — this project shows the full breadth of SCG's repair, strengthening and renovation capability on a live pharmaceutical site.
